BALLAST-LUMATEK Electronic

A ballast is designed to attach to high intensity discharge lights, to provide the correct level of power required. It is vital that the ballast is compatible with your other lighting equipment, for reasons of efficiency and safety.

The Lumatek Electronic ballasts are designed to be more efficient than traditional magnetic ballasts, yet use less electricity:
They are designed to reach full brightness in under one minute-compared to twenty minutes for a typical magnetic ballast.
They are designed to be silent.
They are a small, compact design-about 25% of the total weight of a typical magnetic ballast.
They are designed to produce less heat, so no internal fans needed (no comparitive statistics provided).
They are designed to maintain the potency of the bulb for longer than a typical magnetic ballast (no comparitive statistics provided).
They are designed to have a 20 to 30% higher lumen output, than a typical magnetic ballast.

These ballasts should maintain their efficiency throughout their lifespan - rather than becoming noisy, producing less light, creating more heat and using more electricity.
They include a 4.5 metre output cable, allowing them to be positioned at a distance from your growing environment. The cable is RF shielded so that it does not interfere with radio and satellite TV signals. The cable does not feature a connector of any type as it needs to be wired directly to a light unit for the RF sheilding to perform efficiently.

Suitable for use in areas up to 140 degrees F, and available in two sizes.
