This is a range of Switching Units (Contactors) for use with lighting that uses High Intensity Discharge bulbs, such as High Pressure Sodium or Metal Halide.
A contactor ensures that lights are switched on 'gently' - it allows the high level of power needed for H.I.D. bulbs to pass through without fusing the timer. No timer means no lights going off at the required time, resulting in unhappy plants. Some of these units have built in timers and some are to be used with separate timers, or ballasts with built in timers.

ECOSWITCH 2 is capable of safely switching on up to 2 bulbs of any wattage that add up to no more than 1200 watts (eg. 1 x 1000w bulb OR 2 of any other combination). It is supplied with 2 sockets.

ECOSWITCH 4 is capable of safely switching on up to 4 bulbs of any wattage that add up to no more than 2000 watts (eg. 2 x 1000w bulbs OR up to 4 of any other combination). It is supplied with 4 sockets.

ECOSWITCH 4/T has a BUILT IN TIMER and is capable of safely switching on up to 4 bulbs of any wattage that add up to no more than 2000 watts (eg. 2 x 1000w bulbs OR up to 4 of any other combination). It is supplied with 4 sockets.

ECOSWITCH 6/T 'OCTOPUS' has a BUILT IN TIMER and is capable of safely switching on up to 6 bulbs of any wattage that add up to no more than 3600 watts (eg. 3 x 1000w bulbs OR up to 6 of any other combination). It is supplied with 6 sockets.
